What is the monthly fee?
 
Our monthly rate for internet access is $14.95. Or save more by prepaying annually at $155.40/year, which averages out to $12.95 per month!

Can I pay monthly? 
Yes, the majority of our members pay monthly. Although, if you would like to pay by the year, you will save about $24 at the annual rate ($155.40)

What forms of payment does Self-Service America accept? 
Self-Service America can accept payment from credit, debit cards, or electronic check. Accepted credit cards are Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Debit cards must have the Visa or Mastercard logo.

When do you charge my credit card? 
For monthly accounts, we charge your card on the 15th of the month, for the following month. We bill one month in advance. When you initially sign up, you will pay for the remainder of this month, plus the next full month.

I want to change to a different credit card.  How do I do this? 
This can been done in the Member's Area at http://www.isp01.net/members

I notice you now offer 56K V.92 service in some locations. What is V.92? 
V.92 is the new dial-up modem specification from the ITU (International Telecommunications Union) that introduces three new features that will add convenience and performance for the modem user. The three features are quick connect, Modem-on-Hold™ (MOH) and PCM Upstream. For our complete V.92 FAQs, click here.

How many e-mail addresses do I get? 
Your account includes 1 FREE e-mail addresses. We also have a deluxe account which includes 5 email addresses. To change or add email addresses to your account, use our Member's Area.

When is customer service and technical support available? 
Technical Support is available by phone 24 hours, 7 days a week. Customer service (billing, sales, etc) is available 10 am - 5pm MST, Mon - Fri.

Spamming policies 
Self-Service America has a very strict anti-spam policy. Please be sure to read our Use Policy to be fully aware of the consequences of spamming.
 

Are there any long distance charges when using Self-Service America? 
We suggest that you check with your local phone company to make sure that the number you dial to use Self-Service America is a local call.  Under no circumstances will Self-Service America reimburse for long distance charges. 

Do you have group rates? 
If you have a group of 15 or more, please email sales@self-serv.net

Do you have discounted rates for educational facilities?

Does Self-Service America provide software? 
Yes, Self-Service America has a setup utility but it is not required to use our service. The software is now compatible with Windows 95, 98, ME, XP, and 2000. It is not compatible with any Mac or Linux systems - they have to be configured manually; call Tech Support if you need help configuring Mac or Linux. Self-Service America does not provide browsers or email client software. You will need a browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape. We do have web-based email for your convenience.

Is the software easy to set up? 
The set-up runs like most programs.  You just need to enter some basic information, like name and password. 

How do I change my password? 
Passwords came be change in the Member's Area.

How long does it take to get my account activated? 
Your account will become active within 5 minutes of signing up.

Is Self-Service America compatible with a Web TV box? 
Yes, but there may be fees associated with the use of your current WebTV box if their box is used with Self-Service America. Self-Service America can be used with WebTV, but we do not provide support in the setup or configuration of WebTV devices.

I have two computers. Can I be online with both at the same time with one account? 
No. Only one simultaneous connection can be supported per account. However, you can share an Internet connection with more than one computer. The computers must be networked together on a LAN and configured for Internet Connection Sharing. For help configuring Internet Connection Sharing, open the Windows Help File (Click Start, then Help) and search for "Internet Connection Sharing".

How often will I get a busy signal? 
Not often!  We do everything possible to maintain easy access to the internet.

How often does your server go down? 
Not often. Our servers are completely redundant. When one goes down, another one picks up right where it left off. 

What does 20 Megabytes of web space mean? 
Twenty megabytes of web space is provided for those individuals that have, or wish to have a web site. Your web address will be: http://members.isp01.net/username. Web space is for personal use only.

Does Self-Service America offer ISDN or other high speed access? 
Yes, we offer 64K ISDN, 128K ISDN, and MultiLink 

How often will the process of downloading files across the net be interrupted or terminated prematurely?  
Ideally this would never happen. Many times when it does happen it is a problem with the server sending or holding the data and not the ISP. 

What is the limitation on the size of files that can be attached to e-mail? 
File size may be up to 10 megabytes and all file types are allowed.

*"Unlimited" is an industry term referring to flat-rate pricing not subject to a per-hour charge. This is not a dedicated account and users connected for five continuous hours of use will be required to reconnect. With this account, we require users to log off our network when the connection is not in use.
